We will remember Don for his enthusiasm, generosity of spirit, warmth and community service. He was rich in friends.
Our sympathies to the family and friends of Donald B. Mayo. His contributions to young people made the world a better place. As teacher, superintendent, and person; he was the best.
Deepest sympathy to the Don Mayo family. His commitment to the Horicon area was exceptional and his dedication made the Horicon Rotary Youth Exchange program. Janet & Don are the finest examples of service to the community. Thank you.
Sorry to hear about your loss! I heard a lot of stories & how many people looked up to him! Wish I could of meet him. I just wanted to give you my condolence & let his legacy live on.
Mr. Mayo was a principal at either our high school or grade school in Marshall, Wisconsin. I apologize for not remembering which, but it's been over 50 years. The most important thing is that I still remember him as a very nice man who was kind to students. I needed that back then and am very grateful for it. My sympathies to his family and friends.
Condolences to the family
Deepest sympathies to the Mayo Family. Don was so kind to me in 1996 whilst I was in Horicon on my Rotary Exchange from Zimbabwe. I loved my time with him . He had a genuine interest in other cultures,, his community and Rotary's ethos.
To Don’s family, Don was one of the most inspirational men I ever met. During my time in Rotary and involvement in Rotary exchange, Dan was the master. Our son, Corey, was an exchange student to Brazil 92-93. He was always available to talk to, as a parent that was so important. He will truly be missed.
The School District of Horicon sends its deepest condolences to the Mayo family. Mr. Mayo's leadership in our school district impacted thousands over his years at Horicon and far greater with his 40 years of service to children in the education field across various districts. His compassion for helping all students carried over in his work with the Rotarians in town as he supported and lead the STRIVE program to mentor high school students. Mr. Mayo left a positive mark on our district and we are forever grateful.
RIP... Students, Staff, Alumni of the School District of Horicon
My sympathies to the family and friends of Don. His contributions to make the world a better place are innumerable. I especially honour his contributions to Rotary Youth Exchange. He made a difference in the lives of so many young people.
We are saddened to hear of Don's passing. He was a legend in Horicon with his leadership of the school district and his dedication to Rotary. We are sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral but send our deepest condolences to his family.
