Becky and Family, you have our deepest sympathy on your loss. All of us at Stone Terrace enjoyed having Don as a friend. It was a pleasure to listen to his stories! On a personal note, I was at my 35-year class reunion and Chuck Brooks, or Emcee, paid tribute to Mr. Kordus. His students, including me, will never forget him. What a great teacher he was. His memory lives on. God''s blessings from Sue Linde (former student) and all of his Stone Terrace Friends

I graduate from BDHS in 1967 and like many of the others had Mr. Kordus. In addition, I went to school with Peggy and Becky. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. He was very firm, sometimes scary, but he was an exceptional teacher.

To the family: We were checking the Beaver Dam Daily Newspaper online from our home in North Carolina, and we discovered the obituary for Mr. Kordus. We offer our heartfelt condolences especially to Becky, Mary, and Bob. We will always remember the special memories that we shared with Michael about his father. We especially enjoyed the fun times that we had at family gatherings in Beaver Dam.

Paula Loizzo left a message on August 17, 2009:

Mr. Kordus and my ex husband, Joe Loizzo taught together for many years, and everyone had the deepest respect for Don. He had a mind like no other and the ability to tell a story to make you feel you were right there watching it unveil. As Don aged, I was able to see him at the Remembrance Home (until my mother passed away). He had the ability to make everyone smile....he was a dear soul. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. You have my condolences at this difficult time.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Peter Kaczmarski left a message on August 16, 2009:

First of all I have never done this before. Mr. Kordus was my teacher at BDHS and I graduated in 1979. I can remember every week we would have the current events quiz bowl to get us students aware of what is going on in the world and local issues. I did not do well in High School but his class sparked my interest further and to do better. He did not play favorites to anyone and was a man of few words. But, if you touched on a topic of his knowledge you may get more of a conversation and even a smile. My secondary education went well and I have been in law enforcement for 22 years. I also have been elected to City council and now as President. Of all of my teachers, I wanted to call and thank Don for what he did for me. I was a normal student and he probably would not of remembered me but I know he is looking down on me as I write this. Thank You Mr. Kordus.

Jon Braatz left a message on August 16, 2009:

My deep condolences. I was a student of Mr. Kordus back in the early 1970''s. I can sincerely say that he was one of but a handful of teachers that I truly enjoyed and actually learned things from that were very helpful beyond high school. Some of my classmates may have found Mr. Kordus harsh and tough but if you were prepared, there was never an issue. I guess that was probably the best lesson.
