Donald L. Raue, age 73, of Horicon, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Horicon Manor.

Private services will be held.

Donald Lee Raue was born on January 4, 1934 in Horicon, Wisconsin to the late Arno and Gertrude (Hartl) Raue. On March 28, 1953, he was united in marriage with Donna Neitzel at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2007. Don was a pitcher on the Horicon Hurricane Baseball team for many years and he was an avid golfer. He worked at John Deere Horicon Works for many years. In 1992, he retired and, together with his wife, they moved to Arkansas. Don had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon.

Survivors include four children, Cindy (Steve) Immerfall of Rebublic, Michigan, Cheryll (Bill) Steinke of Madison, Shelley (Mark) Neitzel of Horicon and Jeffrey Raue of Horicon, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

My sincere condolence to the family. I have known Don (and Donna) a long time. Working with Don at John Deere for several yars in the earlier days when he was a supervisor. He was a good egg and speaking of eggs, he didn''t appreciate Easter time when I brought in hard boiled eggs....some hard boiled and some not (and Don picked one of those)The look he gave was a moment to remember when it ran all over his desk. Most recently it was a joy to have Don and Jeff come out to Heine''s every other Saturday to "shake for one" Don liked his pizza. I will miss him.

I was saddened to read about the death of Don. I would like to extend my most sincere condolences to the grieving family. I have very fond memories of Don and our "baseball days". He was a terrific athlete and although I was not able to see him as much as I would have liked to, I am proud to say that I considered him a friend. MAY GOD BLESS THE SURVIVING FAMILY!
