Donald R. Polfuss, age 75, of Horicon, died on Friday, December 25, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
The visitation will be at Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 PM. Private burial will be at Juneau City Cemetery.
Donald Robert Polfuss was born on April 8, 1934 to George and Hattie (Verg) Polfuss in Juneau. He attended Juneau Grade School and St. John”s Grade School in Juneau. Donald lived with his sister Mary in Horicon for over 50 years. He moved to Mayville Nursing Home in 2006 and resided there until his death. Donald worked at Stokley Canning Factory and Juneau Wood Products in Horicon. His favorite job was as a janitor at Horicon High School. For the past 15 years, he has enjoyed the students that have come and gone at the high school. Donald was involved in the Green Thumb Program as well. He was grateful for the friendships he had with the Horicon Firemen.
Survivors are his sisters, Mary Jane (William) Zuelsdorf, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step sister, Norma Firehammer, sister, Ruth Kuchenreuther, brother, Royce Polfuss, half brother, Ernest Haertel, and step sister, Estelle, Edelman.
