Doris J. Eilbes, age 67, died on Sunday, April 30, 2023, with family at her side at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
Doris Jane was the daughter of Ambrose and Betty (Nowak) Eilbes of Randolph, Wisconsin, born on February 25, 1956.
Doris lived most of her life in the care of the dedicated staff at Central Wisconsin Center in Madison. She arrived there in 1965, after spending a couple of years at Southern Wisconsin Center in Union Grove, along with her sister Judy. Over the years, the remarkable staff provided not only her basic needs, but a life that brought her joy. In a quote from Doris’ mom, “I’m always amazed at the new people that care for Judy and Doris. They come with new ideas for toys and comfort items.”
Doris is survived by her siblings, Sandra (Robert) Browning, Judy Eilbes and Loren Eilbes (Janice Kepka); nephews, Jesse (Kayla), Cody (Ashley), and Robert; great nephews, Graeson, Finley and Emmett. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother James.
There will be a celebration of Doris’ life at Central Wisconsin Center, 317 Knuteson Drive in Madison, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Randolph at 3:00 p.m. with Rita Nowak officiating.
