DuWayne Hatzinger

August 28, 1943 - February 12, 2025

DuWayne F. Hatzinger, age 81 of Fall River, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, peacefully at his home with his wife by his side.

DuWayne was born on August 28th, 1943 and was the son of Merle and Ethel (Yaroch)Hatzinger. He went to the Harrison country school and graduated from Fall River High School.

DuWayne farmed with his Dad and Mom for several years. DuWayne served in the Air Force for4 years. He married Judith Erdmann on August 29, 1970 at St. Mary’s Lost Lake. He was a maintenance mechanic at Green Giant and Kraft Foods before he retired. DuWayne enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. He enjoyed being outside taking care of his apple orchard, feeding his birds, and tinkering in his garage. DuWayne liked riding snowmobiles, dirtbikes, and ATV’s with his family. When he had time, he enjoyed reading a book.

DuWayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy, three children, Amy (Matthew) of Greenville, Matthew (Regina) of Willmar, Minnesota and Nicholas (Jessica) of Eau Claire. Four
grandchildren: Madeline, Caitlyn, Carson and Grace. Two sisters, Darlene (Mac) McElhaney from Marquette, Michigan and Diane Radloff from Seattle, Washington, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Ethel, his brother Joseph and brother-in-law Richard Radloff. Family was most important to DuWayne and he cherished the time spent with them.

The family will hold a private ceremony.

Special thanks to the staff at Columbus Hospital, Hillside Hospice especially Jess for all of their care and support shown to DuWayne and his family.

So sorry for your loss. Dwayne was one of the nicest people I've ever known. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. One of my fondest memories would be when he'd pick us kids up with the snowmobile and take us sledding on the big hill. We look forward to it every year. He will be missed. I hope he's enjoying some good stories and fun times with Mom and Dad and all the rest of the neighbors we have lost.

So sorry to hear Aunt Judy. Our condolences and love to you, Matt and Nick. He will be missed by many. Was just smiling thinking of his laugh and the fun we had when he and dad brought my car out to me.

So many memories I have of Jerry and I and your family. From all the friendship memories to the farming of Grandpa and Grandmas land.
But when a friend passes we have no words to say. Judy I know your pain right now and I am just down the road and a phone call away. All my love and prayers to all of you. Take Gods hand - he will see you through this.

I was sad to hear of the passing of a long life friend, Nook. All through country school& high school. Judy,Amy,Matt & Nick our sympathy & prayers are with you. Also they were married just a year after we were married. God Bless.

Our favorite memories were when we were in Wisconsin on vacation and would stop by their home and sit out on the front porch and reminisce about days gone by.
