BROWNSVILLE – Earl E. Hartwig, 73, of N12069 Oaklane Road, Brownsville, died on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Brownsville. The Rev. William Carter will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Brownsville. Friends may call on Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the church.
Earl was born on Oct. 16, 1935, in the town of Herman, the son of William and Frieda (Reabe) Hartwig. He was married to Lolly Panzer on July 26, 1958, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Brownsville.
Earl was employed by Michel’s Pipeline for 26 years and also by Town and Country for six years. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Brownsville and a member of Brownsville Sportsman Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Lolly, Brownsville; one son, Brian (Candi) Hartwig, Falling Waters, W.V.; one sister, Tuttie (special friend Herman Steger) Stafford, Brownsville; two brothers, Arlan (Sylvia) Hartwig, Neshkoro, and Arthur (Esther) Hartwig, Fox Lake; one sister, Elfrieda Lehman, Neshkoro; grandchildren, Tiffany Stafford, Shania Steger, Michael (Nicole) Gierach, Jason (Jessica) Gierach, Craig (Brenda) Hartwig, and J.D. (Keisha) Kruzman; great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Morgan, Brenden, Dakota, Hunter, and Annabella; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill, Clarence, Louis and John, and one sister, Phyllis.
