Edna E. Dinkel, 99, a lifelong resident in the township of Trenton, WI passed away peacefully to meet her Lord on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Clearview Long Term Care and Rehabilitation in Juneau.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, February 6th from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton, WI.
Edna was born the daughter of Carl and Augusta (Schultz) Werner on March 8, 1910 on her family’s farm in the township of Trenton. She was married to Arthur Dinkel on April 18, 1928. Edna, together with her husband farmed on the Dinkel homestead for 66 years. After their retirement, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, especially in the western part of the country. They enjoyed gardening and selling their produce at the local farmers’ markets. Edna was known for her canning and selling homegrown popcorn.
Edna was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. She was an avid card player, especially sheepshead. Edna loved crocheting afghans. She crocheted an afghan for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Edna is survived by her two children: Delores Soldner Hundt of Juneau and Werner (Beverly) Dinkel of Fox Lake; her 11 grandchildren: Gary (Mitzi) Soldner of Fox Lake, Brian (Laura) Soldner of Juneau, Bruce (Carol) Soldner of Juneau, John (fiancee Jackie Buelow) of Beaver Dam, Robert (Terri) Soldner of Juneau, James Hundt of Juneau, Carrie (Douglas) Sackett of Beaver Dam, Colleen (Dale) Steinhorst of Fox Lake, Charles Dinkel of Beaver Dam, Christine (Mark) Schueffner of New Holstein, and Chad (Trisha) Dinkel of Cambria; 15 great grandchildren: David, Magelyn, Paul, Kristen, Kelly, Michael, Joshua, Shelby, Craig, Rachel, Eric, Julie, Jason, Nicole and McLain; two great-great grandchildren: Nikolai and Dailynn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur in 1994, her four brothers: Carl Jr., Edwin, Walter and Elmer, and her two sisters: Ella Koehler and Clara Bonner.
