Edward A. Handrow

July 13, 1917 - January 1, 2010

Edward A. Handrow, age 92, formerly of Horicon, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Hartford Health Care Center.

Visitation for Edward will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday, beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev. Mark A. Wenzel will officiate. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Horicon.

Edward Albert Handrow was born on July 13, 1917 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to the late Gustave and Ella (Abraham) Handrow. He was a graduate of Sheboygan High School and of Coyn Electrical School in Chicago. Edward served in both Greenland and England as a member of the United States Army during WW II. On August 21, 1943, he was united in marriage with Arline Metscher in Sheboygan. Edward worked for 17 years at Madison Gas & Electric and then for 18 years at John Deere Horicon Works, retiring as a Sr. Engineering Analyst.

Survivors include his wife, Arline Handrow of Hartford; four sons, Richard Handrow of Vesper, John (June) Handrow of Hartford, Allan Handrow of Burnett, and Karl Handrow of Beaver Dam; five grandchildren, Justin (Elizabeth) Handrow of Grafton, Michael Handrow of West Allis, Jayme (Jeremy) Schwoch of Horicon, Tanya (Tony) Kufalk of Burnett, and Nathan Handrow of Beaver Dam; five great grandchildren, Janessa, Dylan, Shawne, Kayelee, and Nicholas, other relatives and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Sue and Carol, two brothers in infancy, and two brothers, Charles and Wesley.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Edward Handrow”s name to Special Olympics, ARC of Dodge County, Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam or St. Stephen”s Lutheran Church in Horicon.
