Elaine R. Vangen, 97, of Columbus passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Home Again Assisted Living in Columbus.
Elaine was born on May 5, 1926 in Columbus to Raymond and Julia (Kvale) Knudson. She was a graduate of Columbus High School. Elaine was married to Edward Vangen on October 11, 1949 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Elaine was a lifelong member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus where she served as a member of the ladies aid. Her hobbies included reading and rosemaling and she enjoyed spending time in Eagle River with her husband Edward.
Elaine is survived by her siblings: Thomas (Janet) Knudson of Columbus and Joretta (Roger) Kittelson of Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward; and brothers: Jerry, Raymond, and Edwin Knudson.
A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Robert Wilke will officiate. Interment will take place at Spring Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in Keyeser.
