Elfrieda Doris Dobrowa

February 15, 1926 - December 10, 2008

Elfrieda D. “Ellie” Dobrowa, age 82, formerly from Lansing, Michigan, died peacefully at her son”s home in Reeseville on Wednesday, December 10, 2008.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The former Elfrieda Doris Bothe was born on February 15, 1926 in Lansing, Michigan to Edward and Olga (Zeichel) Bothe. On June 14, 1947 she was united in marriage with Harold Dobrowa. Ellie lived in Michigan most of her life and worked at Fischer Body Plant in Lancing for many years. She also worked for Bathesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, Wisconsin for three years. Ellie loved gardening and flowers. She also loved animals, especially her two parakeets, Helmut and Rudy. She had a passion for reading biographies and she enjoyed to cook. Most importantly, she was a wonderful person that genuinely cared about all people.

Ellie is survived by her husband, Harold Dobrowa, Lancing, MI, sons, Alan (Gloria) Dobrowa, Reeseville, WI, and Dennis (Holly) Dobrowa, Traverse City, MI, grandchildren, Angie Brandt, Jake Tisdale, and Derek Dobrowa, great-grandchild, Isabella Brandt, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Ellie”s name to Hillside Hospice, 709 S. University Ave., Beaver Dam, WI, 53916.

It has been decades since I worked for you at the restaurant "Someplace Else" in St. Johns. I fondly remember working with Elle, Hal and Denny.
