Emily Gladys Rassmann, age 83, was called home to be with her Savior on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Avina of Mayville (formerly Crossroads Care Center).

A Funeral Service for Emily will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cutler and Rev. Joshua Frazee officiating. A visitation for Emily will be held at church on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Mayville.

Emily was born the daughter of Reinhold and Hilda (Ketelhut) Finke on February 3, 1942, in Fond du Lac. She graduated from Mayville High School in 1961. Emily was united in marriage to Roy Rassmann on September 21, 1963, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.

Emily was a lifelong and active member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. Her faith in God was the source of her strength and was reflected in how she lived her life each day.

Emily will be remembered for her joyful spirit and love of life’s simple pleasures. Whether it was tending to her flowers, enjoying a game of bowling with friends, dancing to polkas, or ice skating, she lived each day to the fullest. Emily enjoyed watching the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team play and attending her great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Above all, Emily treasured her family and never missed an opportunity to let them know how very much she loved each one of them.

Emily is survived by her husband Roy; son Brian (Darlene “Dar”) Rassmann; grandson Trevor (Katie) Rassmann; great-grandchildren: Matthew and Elizabeth; siblings: Betty Miller, Leon (Marge) Finke, Roland Finke, Don (Donna) Finke, Judi (Ron) Bastian, Bonita Zastrow, and Loris Schaefer; and two sisters-in-law: Marilyn Finke and Gloria Rassmann. Emily is deeply missed and always remembered by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson Tyler Rassmann; her brother Robert Finke, as well as other dear relatives.

Memorials in loving memory of Emily may be directed to St. John’s Investing in Children Fund.

Emily was such a sweet and kind lady! She was a special friend to all of our family, especially my Mom! Deepest sympathies to you Roy, Brain, and your families. We will miss seeing her smiling face! God Bless you all!

Blessed with a long life, but even with all those years I know they were not enough for those who held sweet Emily so dear to their hearts. To all her loved ones, I extend my deepest condolences. May the countless, fine memories of your beloved wife/mother/sister forever warm your hearts and bring smiles to your faces, even behind tears shed. May you find comfort in knowing that death was never God’s plan, (Gen.1:28; Rom.5:12) and one day death will be no more, (Rev.21:4) as loved ones will be resurrected (Acts 24:15) with the hope of life forever in paradise, on earth, (Ps.37:11,29) as God intended. Until then, a beautiful woman rests in God’s loving care.
