Erma C. Gibson, age 100, of Reeseville, died on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. The funeral service will follow the visitation at church at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Paul Vander Galien officiating. Burial will be in Grove Prairie Cemetery.
The former Erma Christina Reinhard was born on February 3, 1907, in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, the daughter of Emil and Tillie (Schoenwetter) Reinhard. On June 8, 1930, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Gibson at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell. Erma was a graduate of the Reeseville High School and played on the girls basketball team during high school. She was a life long member of Salem Ev. Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and was involved in the senior citizens of the Reeseville/Lowell area by working at the meal site and helping plan many trips.
Survivors include her three sons, Ralph “Hoot” (Pat) Gibson of Reeseville, Howard (special friend- Annabel Brandenburg) Gibson of Beaver Dam and Donald (Bonnie) Gibson of Reeseville, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Reinhard of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, on July 2, 1970; her daughter, Virginia Gessert on August 23, 1986; her brother, Alvin Reinhard, and one grandchild.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Erma Gibson”s name to Salem Ev. Lutheran Church.
The Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville is serving the family.
