Dr. Ernest P. Bonde, DVM, age 87, of Reeseville, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Dr. Bonde will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Friday, February 13, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Sevices will be held at the Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. John”s Cemetery in Lowell where military honors will be held.
Ernest Peter Bonde was born on April 6, 1921 in Hutchinson, Minnesota to the late Andrew and Elsie (Zipf) Bonde. He graduated from high school in Hutchinson and later enlisted in the United States Army. Ernest served during World War II and was stationed at Ft. Gulick in the Panama Canal Zone. On September 16, 1945, he was united in marriage with Ina Ebert at Ft. Meade, Maryland. After the war, Ernest graduated from the University of Minnesota as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his veterinary internship as a zoo doctor in Marshfield, Wisconsin. In 1954, he and Ina settled in Reeseville where he established his veterinary practice. He was a partner in the Beaver Dam Veterinary Clinic and retired in 1984. Dr. Bonde enjoyed his garden, both the vegetables and the flowers. He was a member of the Reeseville American Legion Post # 190.
Survivors include his eleven children, Mary Bonde of Key Largo, FL, Andrew (fiancAC.e, Mary Rechek) Bonde of Randolph, Irene Bonde of Houston, TX, Thomas (Kathy) Bonde of Brownsville, Steve Bonde of Beaver Dam, Rebecca (Miles) Johnston of Lake City, MN, Nick (Barb) Bonde of Oregon, Leo Bonde of Fall River, Brian Bonde of Fond du Lac, Julie (Yasir) Arabiyat of Brown Deer, and Joani (fiancAC., Scott Huth) Bonde-Zigoy of Watertown, 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother, Elmer Bonde of Hutchinson, MN; a sister, Lillian Emerson of Edmond; OK, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dr. Bonde was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson, Ernest; a son-in-law, Wayne Zigoy; a daughter-in-law, Connie Bonde; a brother, Earl Bonde; and a sister, Ruth Wagner.
