Eugene D. Arndt

Eugene Denis Arndt, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Northview Heights in Juneau. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was devoted to his family, his community, and the many activities he enjoyed throughout the years.

A Celebration of Eugene’s Life will take place at the Horicon Hills Golf Course in Horicon on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Eugene was born on May 19, 1940, to Lester and Shirley (Mallon) Arndt. He was a graduate of Horicon High School.

On October 29, 1960, Eugene was married to the love of his life, Marlene Schultz, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. He was a proud father and grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family was one of the greatest joys of his life, and the lessons, stories, and memories he shared with them will continue to live on for generations.

Eugene dedicated many years of his working life to the Department of Public Works in Horicon, where he served as a working foreman. He was a hardworking and dependable man who took pride in his work and in serving the community he called home.

His commitment to Horicon extended beyond his career. Eugene proudly volunteered as a firefighter in Horicon, giving his time and service to help protect his neighbors and community. He was also an active member of Horicon Hills Golf Course, where he enjoyed spending time on the course and with friends.

Sports and recreation were another important part of Eugene’s life. He was fond of watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Eugene was a left-handed bowler and enjoyed the camaraderie and competition that came with the sport. He taught youth bowling for several years and was often referred to as the Earl Anthony of Dodge Center.

When his children were young, he also shared his love of baseball by coaching Little League, creating memories that his children and the many young players he coached would carry with them.

Eugene will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his dedication to his community, his love of family, and the simple joys he found in being active and spending time with the people around him. His presence touched many lives, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories.

Eugene is survived by his children: Randel (Gail) Arndt, Brad Arndt, Mary Arndt, and Flo (Ron) Pritchard; grandchildren: Nicole (Adam) Groh, Ashley (Robert) Corton, Nathan (Caitlin) Arndt, Michael (Amanda) Arndt, Kayla (Bryce) Dewilde, Kera (Johnny) Graf, David Arndt, and Dakota Pritchard; 14 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Richard (Joanne) Arndt, Rosie Weber, and Janice (Tom) Rohloff; as well as other dear relatives and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marlene; and his daughter-in-law Debbie Arndt.
