Jim Lauby left a message on August 5, 2008:

Gene-O will be greatly missed by many people, not the least of which are his "adopted hunting sons". 20 years for me last year. One weekend a year you welcomed us into your hunting cabin and we became part of your extended family. I only realized the significance of this several years ago, after your first serious medical problem. I made a point of telling you a simple "thanks for letting me hunt with you" every year after that. I think you knew what I meant, I think you knew how much it meant to all of us. You will be missed.

Meredith Muhle Tammy, Mark & Greg Frederiksen left a message on August 5, 2008:

Ruthie, Dan, Mike, Dennis, Colette & your families, You know you have been in our thoughts and prayers all along and will continue to be. The 3 Musketeers have united in heaven and what a ruckus they are probably causing right now. I still remember our snowmobiling days on the way to Boulder Jct when we had CB''s and Gene came up with the handle for you.....The Shi*house and we were The Muletrain. I don''t think any of us quit laughing about that. Gene''s presence in this world will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him and heaven has been blessed with his arrival. God bless you and call if you need anything at all.
