Everett was born the son of Lyle and Helen (Koch) Kurtz on January 29, 1961 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Everett was a graduate from Beaver Dam High School, class of 1979. He was united in marriage to Sherry Heimerl on October 24, 1981 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He worked several jobs, including Kmart, where he met Sherry. He also worked at Heling Implement, Northeast Asphalt, Maly’s Turf and Equipment and with Ballweg Implement for the past 15 years as Lawn and Garden Technician. Everett has always enjoyed being a mechanic; rebuilding his GTO in his younger years, fixing old lawn tractors for his sons, Chad and Troy, to ride and then his grandsons, Carson and Camden, rebuilding his father-in-law’s 1967 Grand Prix with Troy and helping out friends and neighbors when their mowers needed fixing.
Everett was a collector of hats and at one point had them all displayed in the house. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, squirrels and also the yearly ducks that came to eat and swim in the pond he built for Sherry. He took pride in his garden every summer making sure it was weed free and had plenty of water to flourish. At harvest time, he enjoyed sharing his vegetables with his sons, grandsons, and friends.
Everett is survived by his wife, Sherry of Beaver Dam; sons, Chad (Chelsea) Kurtz and Troy Kurtz, all of Beaver Dam; grandsons, Carson and Camden Kurtz; mother, Helen Kurtz; siblings, June (Rick) Born and Roxann Nell (Terry Klapper); sisters-in-law, Lois Kurtz, all of Beaver Dam, Deb (Al) Balthazor of Fond du Lac; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
