Florence Hasenstab, 101, of 306 Prospect Ave. in Beaver Dam and formerly of Oak Grove passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Dr. Jack Harrison officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday, May 15th from 1 pm until 2 pm at the church. Interment will take place at St. Peters Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Florence was born the daughter of Fred E. and Lillian (Ullrich) Bender on March 16, 1908 at their home in Markesan, WI. She attended Green Lake County Schools. Later, she was married to Joseph Hasenstab on May 9, 1933. For over 30 years, she lived and worked on her farm that she and her husband purchased in Oak Grove. Florence later worked for Bearbrand Hosiery in Beaver Dam.
Florence was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam. She had a love of gardening, both planting flowers and vegetables and canning in the fall. Her home was the favorite place for her grandkids to visit. They loved being in her red rocking chair and having grandma sing to them.
She is survived by her children: Helen Hasenstab of Beaver Dam, Larry (Karla) Hasenstab of Tucson, AZ and Lynn (Carleen) Hasenstab of Burnett,WI/Big Pine Key, FL; her sister Eveline Bobholz of Oak Grove; her four grandchildren: Paul (Julie) Hasenstab, Renae (Patrick) Dymond, Stacy Hasenstab, J.D. Hasenstab; her five great grandchildren: Lukus, Cody, Jacob, Adam and Josie; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, her brother Fred Jr., and sisters Florine and Lorna.
