Fredrick P. Ballbach

Fred Paul “Cutter” Ballbach was born on April 29, 1952, and left this earth on April 5, 2026. Although cancer tried to take him for 24 years, it was a long and hard battle with the vicious disease of COPD that took him from us.

Fred leaves behind his wife Mariann; his children: Rae Ann Ballbach, Will (Trisha) Ballbach, Paul (Becky) Ballbach, and Kris (Dan) Dunday; grandchildren: Keith, Savannah, MaKayla, Jess, Nik, Nevaeh, Andrea, Anna, and Dylan; great-grandchildren: Kaden Camden, Liam, and Maia; sisters: Linda and Robin; brothers: John Jr., George, and Jeffery; and his ex-wife Mari Lynn Ballbach.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rae Ballbach and his brother Jim Ballbach.

He was a proud lifetime member of the Top Hats MC and considered them his second family.

A Celebration of Fred’s life will be held on a later date.

Fred’s family wishes to thank all the doctors at UW Madison who helped him fight his battle with cancer. Thank you also to all the excellent and caring nurses in the ICU at Aurora Hartford Hospital for all of their wonderful care at the end.

You leave a hole in our hearts but joy in the knowledge you suffer no more. Love you forever and always.
