My deepest condolences…
Gary was one of the kindest people I have ever known. I had the pleasure of being taught and coached by him and was able to assist him with Saturday morning youth basketball. He had a tremendously positive impact on me. Gary will truly be missed.
I remember Mr. Schwandt as a faithful educator and church member. Well done faithful servant.
Mr. Schwandt truly was one of those incredible educators who made coming to school actually enjoyable. He had this magical way of making even the trickiest subjects seem fascinating, and he genuinely cared about every singe student. Beyond the classroom, he was a legend as a coach, not just in sports but in life too. He will be missed by so many of us who were lucky enough to learn from him. Condolences to his family.

Mrs Schwandt and family
Coach was one of the first people i met in Mayville. It was evident from the start on how genuine, real, and kind he was. Coach always put kids first and genuinely cared about what path they wanted to take in life. Gary was always there to help, assist, or lead in what was needed in any capacity. His welcoming made a big difference in my life in Mayville

Sandy, Brian, and David;
Gary was one of my outstanding teacher. I am grateful for the lessons he taught me in how our government works, which I still use to this day.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Sandy, sympathy and prayers for you and the family. We spent many hours having fun while dancing .
I just wanted to say to both of you Sandy and to Gary what a beautiful legacy you left. I always remember you two together traveling raising your children spoiling your grandchildren. And what I remember most of all was when I was a little girl at your wedding I was able to dance with one of the bridesmaids who I thought was a fairyprincess. Thank you for being a part of our family.
Sandy so sorry about your dear husband Gary passing. From his obituary I can see he was a wonderful man giving so to others. May the Lord give you strength during this time of grief. Carolyn Gnewuch Turke ) your old grade school friend)
