Gerald H. Polzin, 91, of Beaver Dam passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Prairie Ridge Health in Columbus.
Gerald was born on July 20, 1934 in Mayville to Harold and Elda (Ferge) Polzen. He was a 1953 graduate of Mayville High School. Gerald later served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard. He was married to Gaye Gilmore on September 1, 1956 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Gerald was a proud and hard working owner of the vending company, H&C Vending for over 30 years. Gerald enjoyed time out on the lake with family and friends as well as going fishing. He enjoyed spending time at Walkers Restaurant and taking trips to the casino. Gerald was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.
Gerald is survived by his children: Scot (Judy) Polzin, Tony Polzin, and Tracy (Duane) Slinger; three grandchildren: Brandon (Jamie) Slinger, Amy and Jill Frederiksen; four great grandchildren: Bristol, Jayden, Isabel and Guy; sister-in-law Joann Polzen; nephew Bob Boeck; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Gaye in 2006; two sisters: Marion (Marvin) Boeck and Margaret (Hub) Bosch; and his brother Earl “Sonny” Polzen.
A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Deacon Ed Cody will officiate. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
