Gerald “Jerry” Miller, age 78, of Fox Lake, died on Saturday, November 18, 2023, while going hunting with the people that he loved, after an apparent heart attack.
The memorial gathering will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Giebink officiating. Military honors will be provided by John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 and inurnment will be at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Gerald Robert was born on May 6, 1945 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Louis and Margaret (Piechekoski) Miller. He was a 1963 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and shortly after graduating, went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force until 1967. Jerry married Judy Pavelka on October 10, 1985. He worked for many years at Breuer Metal as a plasma machine operator and retired in 2012. Jerry always had to keep busy. He spent countless hours working in his wood shop making beautiful personalized card boxes for most of his family members for their wedding days. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, golfing and spending time with family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy of Fox Lake; children, Pam Streekstra (Scott Stiller), Rob (Jackie) Gardner, Marsha Oppermann, David Miller, and Michael (Cheri) Miller; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, with three more on the way; sister, Carol Kenyon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Linda) Pavelka, Randy Pavelka, Susan Pavelka-Martin, James Gubin, and Nancy Pavelka; his two loyal companions, Maddie and Itzy; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, John and Clara Pavelka; as well as other family and special friends.
