Gordon E. Laue, 94, of Beaver Dam passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at his home with his beloved wife Gweneth (Leisses) at his side. Gordon was a humble, kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.
Gordon was born on April 4, 1929 to Elmer and Minnie (Bahr) Laue on his family’s farm in Cambria. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and later served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He and Gwen were married on October 23, 1965 in Beaver Dam. Gordon was employed with Fletcher Oil Co. for 37 years until his retirement. He also worked for the City of Beaver Dam as a supervisor of both the Tahoe Park and Crystal Lake Park Ice Rinks. After he retired, Gordon enjoyed working part-time as a school bus driver for over 10 years.
Gordon was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family above all else. He was an avid card player and especially loved beating his grandchildren at Schafkopf (Sheepshead) and Cribbage. He was a proud Packer fan and season ticket holder since 1957 and passed his love of the Green and Gold on to his children.
Gordon is survived by his wife Gwen of Beaver Dam; his children: Tracy (John) Williams of Wind Lake, Tamara (Jeff) Fisher of Wind Lake, Troy (Samantha) Laue of Waupun, and Travis Laue of Oak Creek; seven grandchildren: Jack, Megan, and Benjamin Williams, Ryan and Adam Fisher, Crista (Brandon) Lueptow, and Emily (Mark) Jablonsky; sister-in-law Minnie Laue; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Mervin, Kenneth, and Vernon Laue and Bernice Schultz; and daughter-in-law Margaret Laue.
A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam with military honors to be conducted.

I only knew Gordon through Travis, went to many Packers games with both of them, Gordon was such great company, loved to joke around and always had a smile on his face! It was a privilege to have known him and Travis was lucky to have had a father like Gordon, not every son is blessed with such a gift!! He will be missed by many!! His humor and wit was so enjoyable. I still think he cheated at Cards LOL. He always was good at Sheepshead We laughed so much playing cards and it was so enjoyable. RIP Gart
