Harlan O. Hahn

Harlan O. Hahn, age 91, of Hustisford, died on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Clearview Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau.

A memorial gathering will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reeseville on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Bergelin officiating. Inurnment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Reeseville with military honors provided by the Lowell VFW #9392.

Harlan was born on May 11, 1932 in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin, to Edward and Hazel (Schaller) Hahn. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Southeast Asia, working as a Navy Seabee. On June 20, 1959, he was united in marriage with Patricia Soldner at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reeseville. They made their home in Hustisford, where they were very active in the community. They celebrated 54 years of marriage in 2013.

Harlan worked as a mechanic for many years at Aunt Nellies/Seneca Foods, specializing in farm equipment and truck repairs.  He taught evening auto and small engine repair classes to adults through Moraine Park Technical Institute. He served as a Hustisford School Board member for over 20 years. Harlan was a Hustisford Lions Club member and had a pivotal role with the operations of their eye bank, for which he was awarded the title of Knight of Sight. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reeseville, where he served on the church council. Harlan had a love for traveling which was passed on to his children and grandchildren. He and his wife also spent their summers selling their home-grown fruits and vegetables at farmers markets throughout the area. He celebrated his military service with a Badger Honor Flight in 2016.

Harlan is survived by his children, Beth (Eric Jaeger) Hahn of Muskego, Peter Hahn of Hustisford, and Craig (Kim) Hahn of Germantown; grandchildren, Alex Jaeger and Lydia (Doug) Baas, Stephen Hahn (Kari Terrill), Collin Hahn, and Lauren Hahn; great grandchildren, Owen and Wyatt Baas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Hahn, Jerry Schimke, and Nancy and Lloyd Thompson; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; sons, Steven and Paul; and siblings, LeRoy “Bub” Hahn, Rivard Hahn, Violet Wilson, Edward Hahn, and Delvin Hahn.

The family thanks Clearview and Common Heart Hospice for their kindness and care over the past months.
