Harriet E. Dassler, 91, a resident of the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam and formerly of 515 Conrad Ln., Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Private family memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A public memorial service with inurnment at Highland Memory Gardens, Tn. of Trenton will take place at a later date.
Harriet was born the daughter of Erwin and Elda (Maus) Herr on October 7, 1917 in Beaver Dam. She was married Arthur A. Dassler on October 22, 1939 in Beaver Dam, WI.
She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Afterwards, she worked in sales for the F.W. Woolworth Co. and was also a dance instructor. Harriet was an active volunteer for the Dodge County Fair for 30 years. She was a volunteer for the hospital gift shop and volunteered as a poll worker on election days. She also served as a mentor for grade school children and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Harriet was a devout member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Harriet is survived by her children: Patricia (Dayton) Mortenson of Mesa, AZ and Fredrick (Susan) Dassler of Beaver Dam; her five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur in 1976 and her siblings: Dorothy Herr, Evelyn McQueen and Ray Herr.
Memorials: First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam or to Hillside Hospice.
