Hazel J. Rohde, age 78, of Juneau, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Friends and family may call at St. John”s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau on Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, December 10, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow on Monday at church beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. Paul Schupmann will officiate. Burial will be in the Juneau City Cemetery
Hazel Jane (Kreitzman) Rohde was born on July 25, 1929 in Watertown, Wisconsin, the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Esther Viola (Schroeder) Kreitzman. On November 10, 1950, she was united in marriage with Daniel Waldemar Rohde at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman. He preceded Hazel in death on June 12, 2001.
After graduating from Juneau High School in 1947, Hazel worked as a secretary at Dairyland Co-Op. She was a member of the Juneau American Legion Auxiliary and St. John”s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. Hazel enjoyed bowling and playing cards for many years. Her piano was her music and she loved to sing. She painted pictures in oil and did ceramics. She loved knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and cooking.
She worked at home taking care of their four children, Ross (Sara) Rohde of Marietta, GA, Pam Hilker of Mayville, Tim Rhode of Fox Lake and Lisa (David) Brill of Paso Robles, CA, six grandchildren, Lauren and Benjamin Rohde, Kyle and Brent Hilker, and Myles and Claire Brill.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Harvey Kreitzman, and an infant brother, Benjamin, Jr.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Hazel J. Rohde”s name to St. John”s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 S. Main Street, Juneau, WI 53039.
