Helen E. Kronenberg, age 89, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
Visitation for Helen will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 AM. Deacon Edward Cody will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Peter”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Helen Elizabeth Beers was born on May 11, 1920 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Edward J. and Margaret Gretchen (Kumba) Beers. She attended St. Peter”s Grade School and was a 1938 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She then went on to Beauty School and worked as a beautician in Milwaukee and Beaver Dam before raising her family. On March 24, 1945, Helen was united in marriage with Leonard “Casey” Kronenberg at St. Peter”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. They lived in Colorado for a short time while Casey was in the military then returned to Beaver Dam. Helen enjoyed sewing and was a skilled seamstress. She made many of the clothes her children wore as they grew up and, for many years, did alterations for other people in town. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and needle point. Helen was a life-long member of St. Peter”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam, currently St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, where she was active in the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her four children; Beth Kamrath of Beaver Dam, Karen (Peter) Share of Colgate, Mary (Randy) Rautenberg of Beaver Dam, and James Kronenberg of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Benjamin Kamrath of Beaver Dam, Jill (Brad) Burchardt of Beaver Dam, Megan Johnson of West Bend, Jenna Johnson of Milwaukee, Katherine Rautenberg of New York, and Brittany Rautenberg of Beaver Dam; two great grandchildren, Leah and Evan Burchardt; three sisters, Jean Pirk of Beaver Dam, Marie Nast of Beaver Dam and Marjorie (Jerry) Butzler of North Fond du Lac; her brother, Edward “Butch” Beers of Beaver Dam; her sister-in-law, Eleanor (John) Adams of Davenport, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons-in-law, Scott Boren and Don Kamrath; three brothers-in-law, John, Fred and Harold Kronenberg, and a sister-in-law, Marie Miller.
