YAKIMA, Wash. – Hertha Amalia Dogs, 99, of Summit View Health Center, Yakima, Wash., and formerly of the town of Theresa, died on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Summit View Health Center, Yakima, Wash.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, River Church, in the town of Theresa. The Rev. Mark Berlin will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, town of Theresa. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:30 until 2 p.m., at the church.
Hertha was born on Oct. 3, 1909 in the town of Theresa, to Charles and Louise (Burow) Benter. She was married to Norbert C. Dogs on June 5, 1932, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Theresa, by the Rev. Herman Laabs.
Together with her husband lived in Kewaskum for 15 years, and then farmed in the town of Theresa for over 35 years. She was baptized on Oct. 17, 1909 by the Rev. Theodor Hoffmann and confirmed Aug. 5, 1923 by Rev. C.P. Thusius. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Theresa, Immanuel Ladies Aid, and Lutheran Woman’s Missionary League.
Survivors include her children, Clifford (Renoda) Dogs, Theresa, Florence (Rev. Melvin) Teske, Yakima, Wash., Eugenia (Earl) Hildebrandt, Whitefish Bay, Norbert (Doris) Dogs, Kenosha, and Gary (Deborah) Dawes, Grand Junction, Colo.; one sister, Elvira Benter, Madison; one brother, Armond (Erlamae) Benter, Lomira; one sister-in-law, Lucille Benter, Lomira; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; two sisters, Evelyn and Amanda; three brothers, Alfred, Erwin and infant Harold; five sisters-in-law, and seven brothers-in-law.
