Dear Marie and Family, I just received the news this week about your Dad. I am so sorry. My fondest memories are working for Howard driving truck all those summers. You boys always kept the trucks in very good shape. I loved your Dad and always think fondly of him. I never had a better boss or friend. I would listen to him speak whenever he didn''t have more work to do that was pressing. I never met a kinder more gentle man in all my travels. I will always cherish the time we had together. Thank you Howard. Mike Daane

I knew Howard later in his life after he married Juanita. He was such a warm and nice person, my dad spoke of him often. He will be missed by all.

We send our sympathy to the whole family. Floyd has fond memories of driving for Howard & the friendship that formed because of it. Even though Howard may be gone, the memories will live on. We are both lucky to have him touch our lives.
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

My husband, David, and I wish to send our sympathies to all of Howard''s family. I remember back in the early 60''s when your family would come to visit us in Oregon, and we would visit your farm in Beaver Dam. It took awhile for us to get acclimated to each other, but we ended up having a lot of fun. If I''m recalling correctly, camping out in our tent in Oregon sometimes proved to be a scary adventure.
