Jack L. Rueckert, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The memorial gathering will be at Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Eileen Kuehnl officiating. The John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 will present military honors at the funeral home following the service.
Jack Lester Rueckert was born on November 4, 1934 to Edwin and Della (Kunz) Rueckert in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1953, and then served in the US National Guard, Army, and retired from the Army Reserve. While in the Army, Jack was a Golden Glove Boxer. He was united in marriage with Donna Gunkle, in 1957, and with Mary Justman-Bath, in 1967. Jack drove truck for Stokley in South Beaver Dam, then worked for Monarch Range for 32 years. He later worked for Metal Fab until they ceased operations, followed by a few years working for Mayville Metal until his retirement in 1997. Jack was a member of several associations that included, the Beaver Dam Lake Association, Beaver Dam Wings Over Wisconsin, Lost Lake Improvement Association, and Dodge County Antique Power Club. He had a love for animals of all types, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed repairing small engines.
Survivors are his children, Robert J. (Laura) Rueckert, Steven Rueckert, David (Janet) Rueckert, Jeri Sobrilsky, Kim (Rick) Drzonek, all of Beaver Dam, and Jack (Lynn) Rueckert of Kewaunee, four step daughters, Vera (Ron) Kittleson, Mary, Lori, and Tammy,14 grandchildren, seven, great grandchildren, his sister and brothers, Ruth (Werner) Schmid, of Beaver Dam, Gene Rueckert, of Rolling Prairie, and Denny (special friend, Dorothy Prest) Rueckert, of Beaver Dam, a sister-in-law, Tomi Rueckert, of CA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, former wives, and infant daughter, Peggy Rueckert, sister, Hazel Scott, and brother, Donald Rueckert.
