Services: A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, June 25th at 1 pm at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
Visitation: Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 25th at 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
James H. Vockroth, 90, 104 Fakes Court, Beaver Dam, died on Friday, June 19, 2009, at Golden Living Center, Beaver Dam.
Celebration of Life services for James will be held on Thursday, June 25 at 1 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home, 109 N. Lincoln Ave., Beaver Dam. Deacon Edward F. Cody will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam. Visitation is also on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
James was born on April 2, 1919 in Beaver Dam, the son of Roy Walker and Jeanette Ann (Ptaschinski) Vockroth. On Sept. 25, 1948 he was united in marriage to Virginia Tuel in Beaver Dam. He was a 1940 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was employed at Kirsh Foundry as a comptroller, retiring in 1987. James was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, where he was active as a mass server, commentator and sang at Masses. He was a member of the Beaver Dam Police and Fire Commission for 30 years, where he served as past chairman for 17 years. James was also active in originating the Little League Baseball program in Beaver Dam.
James is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Jean (Richard) Schauer, San Diego, Calif.; Randy (Barb) Vockroth, Beaver Dam; Vicki (David) Dummer, Beaver Dam, Jay (Robyn) Vockroth, Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Richard, Jason, Amy, Justin, Abby, Danielle, Evann; three great-grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Earl Vockroth.
