James M. Jones, age 59, of Mayville, died on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, after a short battle with cancer.
James Milton was born on September 26, 1964 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Edgar and June (Adamzak) Jones. He worked as a Press Punch Operator at Metalcraft in Mayville, retiring after 28 years of service in 2023. Even though Jim was declared legally blind, that did not deter him from drawing beautiful pieces of art. He liked to draw images of dragons and motorcycles, amongst many other things. Jim was a poet and was proud that he was able to have his work published. He was a collector, most of his items pertaining to dragons, swords and viking things. He also had an astonishing collection of boxed CD’s. Jim was a music enthusiast and enjoyed going on Heavy Metal Cruise adventures at least twice a year with his nephew Keith. He also had a very special bond with his nephew, Justin, whom Jim thought of like a son.
A special thank you to all those who took care of Jim at St. Agnes hospital and to those who helped with his chemo treatment.
James is survived by his sisters, Judy Halfmann and Audrey (Alan) Thomas, of Beaver Dam; former step children, Jennifer and Tyler; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Robert Jones, Linda Engebretson, Allen Jones, Beverly Fleischfresser, Edgar Jones, and Steven Jones.
The gathering will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Sandra Schieble officiating. Everyone is welcome to eat some food at Judy’s house after the service and reminisce about the life Jim had.
