Jean S. Roedl, age 67, of Beaver Dam, died Thursday, February 15, 2024 at University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis following a brief battle with lung issues.
A visitation for Jean will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Kyle Witek officiating.
Jean was born on April 13, 1956 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Harvey and Ethylin (Jahnke) Scherer. She was raised in Juneau, confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and graduated from Dodgeland High School in 1974. Jean worked at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation for 30 years. She had been very active in the Juneau Jaycees. She was a life member, held many state office positions, and attended many Jaycee national conventions. Jean was honored by her Jaycee peers and given the designation of JCI Senator #47733. She was a member of Edgewood Community Church in Beaver Dam and the Dodge County YMCA.
Survivors include her brother and sister, Michael (Diane) Scherer of Horicon and Joan (Monte) Roche of Sparta; a nephew, Michael Roche of Sparta; a niece, Kayle Roche of Waupun; other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
Jean had written a note to her family and friends: I am thankful for everything you have done for me and I appreciate all the help and support when I needed it. Please know that I love you all very much. Remember me as I was living and remember I am going to my final home – a much better place. I will wait to be joined by all of you when the time comes.
