Jeanette A. Welck

Jeanette A. Welck, age 85, of Horicon, died Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Friends and family may call at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM and on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Daniel Seehafer will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Horicon.

The former Jeanette Amalia Nimmer was born on May 12, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Otto and Emma (Schultz) Nimmer. She attended Bethesda Lutheran Elementary School and was a 1940 graduate of North Division High School. On September 23, 1950, Jeanette was united in marriage with Arnold Welck in Milwaukee. He preceded Jeanette in death on July 9, 1995. After moving to Horicon, Jeanette was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and the Lutheran Women”s Missionary League. She also served as church secretary for 14 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol (William) Meyer of Ladora, Iowa, three grandchildren, Andrew (Abby) Meyer of Coralville, Iowa, Benjamin Meyer and Jacob Meyer, both of Ladora, Iowa, her twin sister, June Bartel of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Dennis Welck on October 18, 1995, and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Bartel and Lester Welck.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Jeanette A. Welck”s name to St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, 505 N. Palmatory, Horicon, WI 53032 or Lutheran Interparish School, Box 750, Williamsburg, IA 52361.
