Mrs Hupf and family members I am so glad to have gotten to know your family since I was a little girl coming up to play in sandbox and with the children when we lived in your neighborhood when we were all little children. Jerome will sadly missed by the crossing guards when he filled in because it was always hard to find someone to do this. he did a wonderful job. I am so sorry to hear of his loss he was a great man and friend. He always was very interesting. You have my deeepest sympathy. sherry Bock-gallenebeck

Scott Bahr / Beave Dam Police Department left a message on June 10, 2009:

Dear Jerome''s family, I was saddened to learn of Jerome''s passing. I would like to thank you on behalf of the city and the Police Department for his service to the crossing guards. I do know that he substituted for other guards as often as he could make it, and subsequently helped them out. He was always pleasant to me and filled in for extended periods of time several years ago when we needed a substitute guard for a while. I know the other guards will miss him as well. I am personally unable to attend his funeral because I will out of state on Friday. I now am sorry for that but do wish you all well and send my condolences.
