John G. Apollo, age 85, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Celebrant John R. Leiting will officiate. Inurnment will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

John George Apollo was born on October 26, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Josephine (Crupi) Apollo. On November 18, 1944, he was united in marriage with Dolores Savage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She preceded John in death on July 8, 1994. John worked as a meat cutter at Pernat Haase Meats in Juneau for over 20 years. He has lived in Beaver Dam since moving here from Phoenix, Arizona in 1980.

Survivors include three children, Doris (Dennis) Georg of Randolph, Ann (fiancAC.: Dave Miziul) Dahlquist of Waupun and John Apollo of Waupun, two step children, Diane Beecher of Nebraska and Ronald (Pat) Moon of Milwaukee, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, his sister, Angeline Savage of Youngstown, Arizona, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, seven brothers and sisters, three great grandchildren and a son-in-law, Russell Dahlquist.

The family suggests that memorials be made in John G. Apollo”s name to Hillside Home Care / Hospice, 707 S. University Avenue, Beaver Dam, WI 53916 or the American Cancer Society, 8317 Elderberry Road, Madison, WI 53717.

I lost my Dad 2 yrs. ago and at the time I was so sad I did not get the opportunity to say goodbye to him as he was in Spain at my brothers when he passed away.
