John J. Kaczmarski, age 91, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, September 23, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Visitation will be held at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with an American Legion Post # 146 Service at 6:00 PM and visitation again at St. Katharine Drexel Church 127 W. Maple Ave. Beaver Dam on Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 11:00 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Church 127 W. Maple Ave. Fr. John Schreiter will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael”s Cemetery.
John Joseph Kaczmarski was born on April 4, 1916, in Beaver Dam, the son of the late Stanley and Antonette (Dziekan) Kaczmarski. On May 15, 1949, he was united in marriage to Annabel Veling at St. Patrick”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam.
John was a graduate of St. Michael”s Catholic School, he was a member of the High School Eagle Drum and Bugle Corps and a Veteran of the US Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 146 of Beaver Dam. He was a lifetime member of St. Michael”s Catholic Church, now known as St. Katharine Drexel Parish, where he was active as an usher for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Forresters, and St. Vincent De Paul Society. He worked at Monarch Range for over 45 years retiring in 1980. John was a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
John was a loving father, husband and grandfather who was proud of his family and his Polish heritage. John was an avid sports fan enjoying the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and more and also was a hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Annabel Kaczmarski of Beaver Dam, his two sons, Paul (Debbie) Kaczmarski of Mt. Carroll, IL, Peter (Special friend-Peggy Hess) Kaczmarski of Waupun, his daughter-in-law, Linda Kaczmarski of Madison, his six grandchildren, his sister, Cecelia Gotz of Fountain City, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Joseph on February 2, 2005, his two sisters, Mary Marthaler and Eleanor Voth and his two brothers, Stanley and Eddie.
