David and family- My deepest condolences on the loss of your father and grandfather. I have lived next door to your parents since 1984 and will remember them both fondly. At the time that we moved to Roller Avenue, my daughter was 2 years old and your mom and dad treated her like a grand daughter. Your mother would crochet and sew clothes for her dolls and share holiday treats with her, your father would share flowers and vegetables from his well tended garden. She is grown now and lives out east, but I am sure still carries these fond memories of her childhood. When your mother passed away, it was a sad time and I know a very difficult time for your father. Up until his hospitalization this past summer, I always marveled at his energy and stamina as he tended his yard and garden, created beautiful woodworking creations, and loaded up his station wagon with his radio planes every weekend. Both John and Lorraine were classic examples of the traditional "good next door neighbors" who looked out for others and always shared a greeting and a smile. May your memories comfort you.
