Joy M. Kikkert

Joy M. Kikkert, age 70, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side.

The visitation will be a Trinity Church United Methodist, 308 Oneida St., Beaver Dam on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. – Noon. The funeral service will follow on Friday at Noon with Rev. Joel Certa-Werner officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Lomira, Wisconsin. The family kindly requests that those attending dress casually.

Joy was born on December 24, 1955, in Waupun, Wisconsin, to Floyd and Carol (Mintner) Smith. She graduated from Lomira High School in 1974 and went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree from Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac. On July 3, 1976, she was united in marriage with Ed J. Kikkert in Lomira, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

While Joy’s primary role was that of a devoted homemaker, she also faithfully served as the church custodian for 17 years. She was an especially dedicated “boy mom” who wholeheartedly supported her sons in all of their activities. She spent countless hours volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, proudly helping with scouting events and celebrating the accomplishments of many Eagles Scouts, including her three sons, five grandchildren and countless others across the Bay-Lake Council.  In recognition of her outstanding service, Joy was honored with the Silver Beaver Award.

Joy enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always happy to tackle a new painting project. She and Ed made many treasured memories camping in Montello over the years, a place that became a favorite getaway for their family. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam, spending many hours making Sunday School crafts.

Joy is survived by her husband, Ed; sons, Scott Kikkert, Adam (Brandi) Kikkert, and Tony (Becky) Kikkert; grandchildren, Alex, Montgomery, Dominic, Collin (Kristina), Katelyn (Luis), Lillian (Gavin), Noah, Ella and Ryan; great grandchild Adalynn; sisters, Cheryl (Gerry) Meyer, Barbara (Bob) Breitag, and Tina Rawlins; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws Elmer and Charlene Kikkert, and a sister, Pamela Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Ed Kikkert he will donate to the Kettle Moraine Area Silver Beavers and the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
