Julie Ann (Harris) Heitmann, 47, died unexpectedly at home on July 24th, 2024, after some recent health struggles. She was born April 13, 1977 in Portage, WI, to Calvin and Elaine (Wichmann) Harris, and raised in Pardeeville, graduating from Pardeeville High School in 1995. Shortly after, she began a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, eventually working in home health care for Beaver Dam Community Hospital for over 20 years.
At age 20 she met her life-long love, Brent, and after briefly living in Arizona, returned to WI, where they were married on December 9th, 2000. They eventually settled in their home in Juneau, where they raised their two children, Christian and Emma, the greatest joys and proudest accomplishments of her life.
Julie loved nothing more than being with family, often hosting impromptu gatherings and game nights. She loved to cook and bake, and could be counted on to have the best homemade treats on hand. An avid Brewers fan, it was a given that if they were playing, Julie would be watching or listening. Her little dog Snickers was always at her side, ready for kisses.
Julie was a born caregiver, beginning with babysitting as a young teenager, before transitioning to caring for the elderly and those with physical challenges who needed extra help; bringing comfort, cheerfulness and dignity to everyone she cared for. It was a calling that truly brought her happiness, and she was devastated when her own health issues prevented her from continuing her caregiving career.
Julie is survived by her husband, Brent Heitmann; son, Christian Heitmann of Beaver Dam, and daughter, Emma Heitmann of Juneau; two sisters, Linda Dahnert of Lindenhurst, IL, and Lisa (Joel) Koch of Sidney, MT; several nieces and nephews, and many close in-laws and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents.
The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 12:00 noon at 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Richards officiating.
