Visitation: Visitation times will be held on Tuesday, December 9th from 4 till 7 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and also on Wednesday from 12 noon till 1 p.m. at the church
Julius Baerwald, 72, of 609 N. Cedar St., Horicon, died on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m., at Zum Kripplein Christi Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman. The Rev. John Bonow will officiate. Burial will be in Zum Kripplein Christi Cemetery, town of Herman. Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and also on Wednesday, from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
Julius was born on July 26, 1936, in Dodge County, the son of Hugo and Frances (Baumann) Baerwald. He was married to Patsy Grande on Sept. 30, 1961, at Zum Kripplein Christi Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman.
Hugo was a graduate of W.L.A. of Fond du Lac. He was employed with Liegl Motors of Horicon for 15 years and retired from Babcock Automotive of Beaver Dam. He was a lifelong member of Zum Kripplein Christi Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman, where he served on several boards and also was an active choir member.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy; children, Mike (Debbie) Baerwald, Mayville, Bonnie (special friend Lisa) Baerwald, Fond du Lac, and Michele (Ryan) Schabel, Waupun; three sisters, Janette (Arnold) Dais, Mayville, June (LeRoy) LaCharite, Mayville, and Judy (Clayton) Swanton, Oconomowoc; one brother-in-law, Art Steinbach, Mayville; grandchildren, Daniel and Travis Schabel; step-grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Smith, Jennie (Matt) Wiese, Jodi (Lee) Zimmer, and Kelly (Anthony) Weeks; 10 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jane Steinbach, and two brothers in infancy.
