Kenneth R. Bauer, 83, W3138 County Trunk Y, Lomira (LeRoy) died on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy. The Rev. Tom Biersack and the Rev. Robert Berghammer will concelebrate. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery, LeRoy. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Lomira American Legion Post 347.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 3 to 6 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy.
Kenneth was born on July 26, 1925, in LeRoy, the son of Alois and Ottilia (Feucht) Bauer. On Sept. 27, 1947, he was united in marriage to Alice M. Krapfl at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy. He retired from Maysteel Corp. after 41 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy, and was active with the St. Andrew Fall Festival, summer picnics and funeral lunches. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Marines and as a member of Lomira American Legion Post 347.
Survivors include his children, James (Renee) Bauer of LeRoy, Kathleen Kitty (Steve) Klein, West Bend, Diane (Mike) Vollmer, Mayville, Kris (John) Butzlaff, Campbellsport, Douglas Duff, Lomira, Heidi (Ross) Rebernick of Mukwonago; one sister, Nellie Wagner, West Bend; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Ida; daughter, Debra in 1991; two grandsons, Tony and Greg Vollmer, in 2003; sister, Sylvia; two brothers, Clement and Jerome.
