Kurth “Kurt” F. Kast, 93, formerly of Randolph, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025.
Kurth was born on May 28, 1931 the son of Otto and Freda (Wagner) Kast in Milwaukee. On August 7, 1954, he was united in marriage with Generose “Genny” Geiger at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus.
A lifelong farmer, he began working on the family farm and carried that passion throughout his life. His dedication to agriculture led him to own and operated South Randolph Implement, later Waupun Equipment Company, where he was president for 30 years, retiring in 2000.
Kurt was a devoted member of Annunciation Catholic Church. He served on the church council for many terms and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his younger years, he enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting, and later in life he took great pride in tending to his vegetable garden. Kurt also thoroughly enjoyed his time on his lawn mower; meticulously maintaining six acres of land well into his 90’s.
Family was the heart of his life. Married to his beloved wife, Genny, for over 70 years, their love and commitment were an inspiration to all who knew them. He took great joy in hosting family gatherings and even built a baseball diamond on the homestead, where countless memories were made playing ball together.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Genny and his children: Greg (Carol) Kast of Randolph, Lisa (Jerry) Warmka of Iron Ridge, Lucy (Kevin) Malter of Fond du Lac, Ken (Shelia) Kast of Waupun and Keith Kast (Katie Maly) of Waupun; grandchildren: Andrew (Michelle) Kast Gwendolyn (Jason) Hermes, Curtis (Jessica) Kast, Tyler (Breanna) Warmka, Travis (Kayla) Warmka, Calli Malter, Cody Kast, MaKenna Kast and Kaden Kast; and 13 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bea (Donald) Dunning, James (Linda) Geiger, Ruth Geiger, Carol Geiger and Jerry Tjugum. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Linda Kast; brothers: Howard (Margaret) Kast and Donald (Edith) Kast and his granddaughter Rebecca Kast, his father and mother-in-law Alfred and Verna Geiger, also many brothers and sisters-in-law.
A visitation for Kurt will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Will Arnold officiating. Interment will be at Lost Lake Cemetery in Lost Lake, Wisconsin.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Christian Home Assisted Living Staff; your dedication and care made Kurt feel at home. Also, special thank you to the 2nd floor staff at Waupun Memorial Hospital for your exceptional care. Your kindness will always be remembered by our family.
