Larry Richard Kohrt, 75, of Mayville, WI, was born on March 27, 1948, and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Larry was the eldest of three children, born to Gehard (Gary) Kohrt and Delores (Koepsell, Kohrt) Sell.
Larry received the forgiveness of all sins and the robe of Christ’s righteousness through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on April 11th, 1948, at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Hochheim. He confessed his faith through the rite of confirmation on May 27th, 1962, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.
After proudly serving in the US Marine Corps, Larry was married to his first wife, Sharon Kohrt on Dec. 19th, 1970, at St Matthew’s Lutheran Church. They began their lives together on the Adolph and Laetitia Koepsell homestead near Iron Ridge. The young couple started out working together at the West Bend Company, with Larry completing nearly 8 years of service. Then Larry spent the rest of his days at home, growing vegetables, taking an interest in raising small animals, hunting, and fishing. He always kept his guns handy. Then Larry married Sandra (Dewitz) Oresnik on June 27, 1994. For 3 decades together, they enjoyed planting scenic flower gardens and landscaping the homestead, as well as taking an interest in collecting local memorabilia, while enjoying their retirement years together.
Larry is survived by his sister Jean (Kohrt) Singer of Tigerton; his first wife, Sharon Kohrt, of Allenton; his daughter, Janell (Marty) Strupp, PT of Allenton; his grandchildren, Dr. Corianne (Zachary) Maas PT, DPT of Hubertus, Dr. Jessica Strupp PT, DPT and Ryan Strupp SPT. Larry’s first great-grandchild is expected in August 2024. He is further survived by loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gerhard Kohrt and Delores (Elroy) Sell, his grandparents Adolph and Laetitia (Roediger) Koepsell, Gerhard and Frieda (Lepple) Kohrt, infant brother Ronald Kohrt, brother-in-law, Larry Singer, his second wife, Sandra (Oresnik, DeWitz) Kohrt, and his infant daughter Jolene Marie Kohrt
Larry now rests in the arms of his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, in his heavenly home. Salvation is a gift of God.

Visitation will take place on Monday, March 11 at Immanuel Lutheran Church (River Church) from 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service conducted by the Rev. Douglas Zahner at 11:00 am. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69 at Hochheim Cemetery.
