78, of Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Veteran”s Hospital in Madison.

The memorial gathering will be at St. Stephen”s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The memorial service will follow at the church on Monday at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Green Lake County on Monday at 2:00 PM.

LaVerne Dwane Rahn was born on July 29, 1931 in Dalton, Wisconsin to Martin and Jeanette (Rohde) Rahn. He was a Staff Sgt. in the Infantry Division for the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 until 1953. LaVerne worked at Rockwell of Randolph and worked for 31 years at MetalFab in Beaver Dam. He was united in Marriage with Mildred Rahn on July 29, 2002 at St. Stephen”s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. After retirement, he worked various part-time jobs in the area. LaVerne enjoyed his time with his family and friends and his cats, Babe and Blackie. He was an antique car enthusiast and was an avid hunter and fisherman. LaVerne was a member of St. Stephen”s Ev. Lutheran and was a member of the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 in Beaver Dam.

Survivors are his wife, Millie Rahn, Beaver Dam, four sons, Mike (Vicki) Rahn, Oak Grove, James (special friend, Sally) Rahn, De Forest, Jay (Melissa) Rahn, Baraboo, and Randall Rahn, Madison, two brothers and one sister, Elwood (Margaret) Rahn, Randolph, Wayne Rahn, Ripon, and Carol (Joe) Neis, Montello, two step daughters, brother-in-law, Arthur (Marjorie) Rahn, Jr., Beaver Dam, mother-in-law, Frances Rahn, Fox Lake, grandson, Alexander, Oak Grove, granddaughter, Traelynn, Baraboo, cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond, and a sister-in-law, Minnie Rahn.
