Lawrence M. Yelczyn

Lawrence M. Yelczyn, age 84, of Burnett, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 31, 2026.

The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Ed Cody officiating. Burial will be at Stone Cemetery in the Town of Burnett, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Lawrence Michael was born on June 7, 1942, in Hammond, Indiana, to Michael and Lucile (Riese) Yelczyn. He graduated from Mayville High School and began a career at Mayville Metal, where he worked in the sample department. Through dedication and hard work, Lawrence spent 45 years with the company before retiring.

Lawrence found joy in the simple things in life. He looked forward to casino trips with Kim’s Tours and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family. Lawrence enjoyed many camping trips with his family over the years too. A talented welder, he enjoyed creating projects in his workshop, especially building scooters and other unique items. His ingenuity even led to receiving a patent for his aluminum can crusher design, a testament to his creativity and craftsmanship.

Lawrence is survived by his children, Tina (Steven) Strieff and Michael (Jennifer) Yelczyn, all of Beaver Dam; son-in-law, John (Justine) Schuster of Juneau; grandchildren, Jeremy (Raya) Schuster of Juneau, Jessy (Erin) Schuster of Juneau, Timothy Hofstetter of Beaver Dam and Nathan Strieff of Beaver Dam; great grandchildren, Serenity and Ember, Emerson, Ayden, Jayden and Brayden; sister-in-law, Patsy Yelczyn of Beaver Dam; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Toni Schuster; former wife, Sharon Yelczyn and brothers, Richard, Walter and Jerry Yelczyn.
