Linda C. Schraufnagel

Linda Carolyn Schraufnagel, age 70, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family, after a 9-month battle with Glioblastoma.

A funeral service for Linda will take place on Monday September 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Knowles with Rev. Matthew Kuske officiating. A visitation for Linda will be held on Sunday September 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and again the following day at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Knowles from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, interment will take place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in LeRoy.

Linda was born on July 14, 1956, to Armond and Evelyn (Heldt) Schreiber. She was a graduate of Lomira High School, class of 1974. She was confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran Church.

On July 22, 1978, Linda was united in marriage to Robert Schraufnagel at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy and spent 48 wonderful years together.

Linda was a member of St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Knowles as well as a past member of the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Knowles Fire Department Auxiliary. She worked as an Aid and Administrative Assistant for the Mayville School District for 23 years; getting to know many families throughout the years and retired in 2018. She coached many sports which include volleyball, track, and cross county. For 31 years, Linda was a town board member for LeRoy, where she was the chairman for 27 of those years.

Linda had a love for life and an even greater love for her family. She often could be found cheering on her grandchildren from the stands at their sporting events; supporting them in everything they did. She was so proud and treasured every moment they spent together.

She enjoyed exploring new places and traveling with Bob and her family. Before the current trip was even done, she was already planning the next trip with the family. The destination was only half the fun for Linda. The memories and stories made along the way will be an everlasting source of laughter and love for Linda’s family to hold on to.

Linda enjoyed crafting, quilting, wood working, cooking, and canning. Linda took great pride in gardening and taking care of her beautiful flowers. Her love for Christmas and over the top decorations became a family joke where they called it Schraufnagel International Airport, because of the numerous Christmas lights.

Linda is survived by her mother: Evelyn Schreiber; loving husband: Bob Schraufnagel; her children: Eric (Karina) Schraufnagel, Kristin (Matt) Freund, and Jeremy (Desiree) Schraufnagel; grandchildren: Kiana, Kaisyn, Kierani, and Nora; grandpuppies: Kimora, Remi, Wini, Ranger, and Nala; her sister: Luann (Ray) Antonioni; and siblings-in-law: Leo (Roseann) Schraufnagel, Richard Schabel, and Sharon Schraufnagel. Linda is further survived and cherished by nieces and nephews, other dear relatives, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her father: Armond Schreiber; her father and mother-in-law: Leo and Lucille Schraufnagel; her grandson: Jacob Schraufnagel; brother-in-law: Norman Schraufnagel; and sister-in-law: Carol Schabel.
