Linda L. Grebe

Linda L. Grebe, 68, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek. Her daughters wouldn’t say she lost a battle of cancer, she fought non-stop to have a quality ending and another year and a half of memories. 4am was always the time of day she would wake up; it was only natural it was the same time she decided to start her new journey.

Linda was born on September 17, 1955 in Horicon to Harold and Darlene (Roll) Schwantes. She was a graduate of Horicon High School class of 1973. Linda was a secretary and a licensed insurance agent for many years.

Linda was a member of First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. She held dear volunteering up until very end. She loved to travel, cruising to warm and sunny places outside of the Wisconsin frozen tundra, canning, gardening but everyone knew she loathed cooking (but more palatable with the invention of the air fryer). The past few years she experienced the connection and joy of friendships and long-lost relatives where they went to plays and get togethers that she cherished.

Linda is survived by her two daughters: Jenny Twardokus of North Fond du Lac and Nicole (William) Sheffield of Kansas City; three grandsons: Dante, Xander, and Sebastian; six siblings: her much older twin sister Leila (Keith) Lemerond, Norman (Barbara) Schwantes, Wayne Schwantes, Harlyn (Lynda) Schwantes, Dale (Susan) Schwantes, and Warren (Gail) Schwantes; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Celeste; and niece Amy Kvalheim.

No formal funeral services will be held. It was Linda’s wish that family and friends attend a church service at First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam in her memory. Her clever and disobedient daughters will be inviting all loved ones to the 10am service February 4,2024 with breakfast in her honor to follow at Park Avenue Sports Café at 11:30.

In lieu of flowers, she wishes everyone donate the money to: First Lutheran Church Beaver Dam, Shriners Children’s Hospital, or St. Jude’s Hospital.

I already miss this dear woman. Kind, gentle, faith-filled, she was a joy to know. Heaven is blessed to have her. May God rest her soul.

I just saw Linda in October at the harvest dinner at first Lutheran Church. I’m on medical leave right now myself. Was hoping to connect with her before I go back to work. My thoughts are with the family at this time! I worked with her at Clearview also.

Haven't talked to Linda in years but I feel blessed having gone to school with her and Leila all those years ago. ❣️Gone for now but not forgotten ❣️
