Lorraine S. Huettner, age 89, of Beaver Dam, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Friends and family may call at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 127 W. Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam on Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday at church, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. John Schreiter will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Lorraine Sophie Schraufnagel was born on August 5, 1917 in the Town of LeRoy, Dodge County, Wisconsin to the late Alois and Elizabeth (Wolf) Schraufnagel. On May 12, 1937, she was united in marriage with Dudley Huettner in LeRoy, Wisconsin. She farmed with her husband for many years and was very involved in the operation of the farm. She also worked for Green Giant for many years. In 1962, their farm was the first Dodge County farm to host Farm Progress Days. Lorraine never missed a Dodge County Fair. She loved to garden and bird watch and she enjoyed polka music. She loved her grandchildren and they never failed to put a smile on her face. Lorraine was a member of the Columbus Homemakers.
Survivors include four children, Robert Huettner (FiancAC.e, Jean Budde) of Fox Lake, Elaine (Robert) Wunderlin of Sun Prairie, Kenneth (Marian) Huettner of Beaver Dam, and Scharleen (Robert) Searvogel of Beaver Dam, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, her sister and brothers, Victor (Dorothy) Schraufnagel of Marshall, Harold (Elaine) Schraufnagel of Columbus, Rosella (Norman) Smith of Beaver Dam, and Gilbert (Lorraine) Schraufnagel of Sun Prairie, her sister-in-law, Eleanor Schraufnagel of Columbus, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, in 1990, her sister, Bernice Grenas, her brother, Alex Schraufnagel, her son-in-law, Jerome Cromheecke, and her daughter-in-law, Frances Huettner.
