Lyman Riley, age 80 of Beaver Dam, WI, passed away peacefully from metastatic melanoma September 19, 2023 at Rainbow Hospice Center in Johnson Creek, WI.
Lyman was born on April 6, 1943, in Winneconne, WI, where he spent his formative years. He went on to serve four years as a medic in the United States Navy. Later he met his sweetheart, Mary, on his birthday. They were married the following year on June 17, 1967, in Oshkosh, WI. They were together for 56 cherished years. Afterwards, he was employed with Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI as the manager for the respiratory care and sleep lab departments for 33 years. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, dedication and passion for helping others. After retirement, he enjoyed the life of a snowbird traveling from WI to winters in FL.
In his free time, Lyman enjoyed traveling with his family, household projects and spending time outdoors. More than anything, Lyman was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He felt very blessed and fortunate. He was a quiet, gentle and patient man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He is a true role model who we will always look up to.
